I absolutely love this transportation service. Steve is amazing and very professional. Always smells good in the van and is always clean. I am handicapped and in a wheelchair. It’s really nice to be pushed around by Steve. I always leave with a smile on my face and happy a service like Caring Heart exist. My case manager with Inclusa has switched all her clients as well to this transportation service. It’s 100 times better then You buy we fly. Above and beyond” is the best way to describe their professionalism and compassion. Our customer last night requested a jump start, and they waited in below freezing temperatures for 45 minutes for service (due to other requests that came in first and us not being fully informed of the situation). Upon arrival we found the customer and her husband, who is confined to an electric wheel chair, cold and sitting in their vehicle. While I was able to get their vehicle started, the issue was not just the battery, it was the alternator and the vehicle would shut down as soon as the jumper cables were disconnected. Can’t let these people freeze out here, I made sure they could keep their vehicle running by keeping their vehicle hooked up to mine and then the fiasco of getting the correct needed help began. 911 said “no”, we can only pick up and transport to the hospital and recommended a private ambulance (understandable). 2 private ambulances said “no”, we can only pick up at the hospital. 1 private ambulance said “yes” BUT we have no one available in Janesville, you should call 911. Hospice service said “not sure what to do or who to contact, call an ambulance”. Rock County Transit had a recording to call back during business hours. Wheel chair van services were closed, not answering, or were just advertising in Janesville but were not actually based locally and wouldn’t be able to help without a scheduled appointment. 90 minutes later, I came across Caring Heart Transport and BINGO, I explained the situation and while not actually available, they became available and 15 minutes later arrived.

This was an unusual situation compounded by the time of day and by the temperature. In 30 years of performing Emergency Road Service, this situation was a first. I’ve learned to adapt and overcome and I was just doing my job to make sure my customer was taken care of and safe. Above all safe before I leave. Caring Heart Transport though, did not have to get involved and could have easily brushed off the situation instead of responding, for that I commend them!
